About the UEC
The Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) is set by the Examination Board of Dong Zong, the United Chinese School Committees’ Association of Malaysia. Junior Middle UEC is taken in Junior 3 and Senior Middle UEC in Senior 3. The 2026 sitting is the 52nd.
UEC results are accepted by many private universities in Malaysia and by universities overseas. Since May 2026, UEC holders who also pass SPM Bahasa Melayu and History may apply for selected public-university programmes in Chinese language, linguistics and Chinese studies.
