Maya spent nine years inside a large health system, carrying a panel of 2,400 patients and watching the visit clock shrink year after year. In 2019 she left, signed a lease on SE Division, and opened Fernwell with a simple constraint: no clinician here will ever carry more than 450 patients.
Her clinical home ground is the long game — blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, the slow work of keeping people out of hospitals. She is the kind of doctor who reads the specialist’s letter before you arrive and calls you after the result lands.
Outside clinic she is usually on the Springwater Corridor on a gravel bike, or losing gracefully at cribbage to her two teenagers.
