What works well over video
Follow-ups, medication adjustments, mental-health check-ins, rashes and minor injuries with a good camera, travel prep, results reviews, the "should I come in?" call. Roughly a third of Fernwell visits happened virtually in 2025 — by member preference, not by cost-cutting design.
What doesn’t
Anything that needs hands, ears or instruments. The judgment call is exactly the kind of thing your own doctor is better at than an app: we know when the earache needs the otoscope.
The boring, important detail
Our clinicians hold Oregon licenses, so virtual care is available while you are located in Oregon. Traveling members still use the text line for advice and we coordinate care wherever you are.
