Charge & Court Navigator
See which court hears your charge, whether it's summary or indictable, the statutory maximum penalty, and the likely process — a real place to start.
How to read your result
Which court
Summary offences are finalised in the Magistrates Court. Indictable offences start there but are committed to the District or Supreme Court for trial or sentence.
Maximum penalty
The figure shown is the statutory maximum. It is not what you will get — most matters resolve well below it, and many end without a conviction.
Specialist recommended
For the most serious charges we flag where an Accredited Specialist should lead. Two of our directors hold that accreditation.
