Formulations for dryness & barrier
A focused shortlist from the range, chosen for this concern. The actives that do the work: hyaluronic acid, NMF, ceramides, squalane.
Understanding the concern
Understanding dryness
Tightness, flaking and a dull, rough feel mean skin is losing water faster than it can hold it, usually because the barrier is not sealing properly. Drinking more water will not fix it; the repair happens on the surface.
Humectants like hyaluronic acid draw water in, barrier lipids like ceramides seal it, and cutting back on stripping cleansers and over-exfoliation stops the leak.

Hyaluronic acid
A humectant that pulls water into the skin for immediate plumping. Apply to damp skin, then seal.
Ceramides and barrier lipids
Rebuild the mortar between skin cells so the water you have added actually stays in.
Facial oils
A final occlusive layer over moisturiser for very dry skin, locking everything beneath it in overnight.
A simple routine for dryness
- Cleanse gently; swap any foaming, tight-feeling cleanser for a cream or amino-acid one.
- Layer a hydrating serum on damp skin, then a ceramide-rich moisturiser to seal.
- Ease off exfoliating acids while the barrier recovers; over-exfoliation is a common hidden cause.
Common questions
Why is my skin dry even though I moisturise?
Often the barrier is damaged, usually from over-cleansing or over-exfoliating, so moisture escapes as fast as you add it. Simplify and repair, and it holds better.
Is dryness the same as dehydration?
Not quite. Dry skin lacks oil; dehydrated skin lacks water. Many people have dehydrated skin that needs humectants plus a sealing moisturiser rather than just a richer cream.
