Composite Bonding

Reshape and refresh in a single visit — reversible, and kind to your enamel.

Composite bonding builds up tooth-coloured resin directly onto your teeth to repair chips, close small gaps, lengthen worn edges and refine shape. It is sculpted and polished by hand, chairside, usually with no drilling and no anaesthetic.

Because it is additive, bonding is one of the most conservative cosmetic options — nothing permanent is done to the tooth underneath. It is a superb choice for younger patients, for a first step, or for anyone who wants a meaningful change without committing to porcelain.

FAQ

Composite bonding — your questions

How long does bonding last?
Composite typically lasts 4–8 years before it needs polishing or refreshing. It stains a little more than porcelain over time, so we recommend avoiding heavy staining right after placement and keeping up hygiene visits.
Bonding or veneers — which is right for me?
Bonding is more conservative and cheaper but less stain-resistant and shorter-lived; veneers cost more but last longer and hold colour. Our Smile Timeline Planner and the journal comparison can help, and we will give you a straight recommendation at your consult.
Does it damage the tooth?
No — bonding is additive and reversible, which is a large part of its appeal.
