Terms of use & disclaimer
The terms on which this website, and the tools on it, are made available.
Last updated 1 July 2026.
1. No legal advice
The contents of this website, including all articles and the dispute-assessment and limitation-checker tools, are provided for general information only. They do not constitute legal advice and must not be relied upon as such. Every matter turns on its own facts; you should take advice on your specific circumstances before acting or refraining from acting.
2. No solicitor–client relationship
Using this website, submitting an enquiry through it, or using any tool on it does not create a solicitor–client relationship between you and Cheah Menon. A relationship arises only when we have completed a conflict check and confirmed our engagement in writing.
3. The tools are indicative only
The limitation checker applies standard statutory periods to a date you enter; it cannot determine when your cause of action actually accrued, whether a shorter or special regime applies, or whether time has been postponed or reset. The dispute-assessment tool gives general orientation from your answers. Both are aids to a conversation, not a substitute for advice, and neither should be relied upon to determine or protect any deadline or right.
4. Publicity & directory content
This website is published in accordance with the Legal Profession (Publicity) Rules 2001. Any directory rankings or commentary quoted are reproduced as published by the respective independent publishers and are not a representation by the firm as to any outcome.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cheah Menon accepts no liability for any loss arising from reliance on the content of this website or its tools. External links are provided for convenience and we are not responsible for the content of external sites.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
