The firm

We didn’t study this system first. We survived it first.

Osei Fortin LLP is a Toronto immigration law firm founded in 2012 by two lawyers whose own landing papers hang framed beside their call certificates.

Our story

Two arrivals, one firm.

Kwame Osei landed at Pearson in 1999 on a study permit with a conditional acceptance letter and a Toronto winter he still describes as a personal insult. Camille Fortin grew up in Montréal’s Villeray beneath her grandmother’s framed 1946 landing card. They met as junior lawyers across a hearing-room aisle, argued for three hours, and decided the profession needed a firm that treated immigration files the way litigators treat trials — built to withstand scrutiny.

Osei Fortin LLP opened in 2012 with one associate, a borrowed boardroom and a rule that still governs the practice: every client hears the honest answer first, the hopeful one second. Fourteen years on, the firm has carried more than 4,800 matters for clients from over sixty countries — skilled workers, spouses, students, founders, and the employers who need them.

What we believe

Four working principles.

Candour before comfort

If the numbers do not work, you hear it at the consultation — with the plan that could change them.

Files built like cases

Every application is prepared as if an officer will doubt it — because one might.

Flat fees in writing

Quoted before you commit, never revised mid-file for work we should have foreseen.

Your language, your file

Consultations in six languages, documents explained until they are actually understood.
