Mei interpreted for her parents at every appointment from the age of nine — banks, clinics, and one memorably tense visa office in Hong Kong. The habit of translating systems for people she loves became, eventually, a legal career.
She practises across the family class and citizenship: spousal and child sponsorship, physical-presence calculations, urgent-processing requests and the file-recovery work that follows a missed test invitation or an incomplete application returned in the mail. Students and recent graduates come to her for study-permit strategy and the post-graduation work permits their futures often hinge on.
Mei was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021 and volunteers monthly at a Chinatown legal-information clinic.
