“In children’s matters the question is never who wins. It is what the children need — and the Act says exactly that.”
Priya leads the firm’s children and protection work — the matters where the stakes are highest and the law is only half the problem. Custody and access disputes, guardianship, relocation cases, and urgent applications under the Domestic Violence Act 1994 all sit with her team.
She trained in child-inclusive mediation because she believes the most reliable predictor of how children weather a separation is not the order the court makes — it is how the adults behaved while getting there. Where safety allows, she pushes hard for parenting arrangements built by agreement rather than imposed by judgment.
For protection matters she runs a different playbook entirely: fast, procedural and safety-first. Her team maintains standing relationships with welfare officers and women’s aid organisations, and keeps emergency slots open every week for interim protection order work.
