A founding partner of the firm, Dato’ Halim has appeared in the superior courts of Malaysia for close to four decades, including landmark appeals before the Federal Court on contractual penalty clauses and directors’ duties. He now leads the firm’s advocacy training and appears as lead counsel in select commercial disputes and arbitrations.

Selected experience: Recent work includes acting as lead counsel for a public-listed plantation group in a RM 380 million shareholder oppression suit, and for a state agency in Federal Court proceedings on compulsory land acquisition compensation.

Swee Lin has led the corporate practice since 2008 and became Managing Partner in 2019. She advises boards, founders and private-equity investors on acquisitions, joint ventures and Bursa Malaysia listings, and is the firm’s relationship partner for several regional banking groups.

Selected experience: Recent work includes advising the vendors in the RM 1.2 billion disposal of a Malaysian healthcare group to a regional private-equity buyer, and a technology founder on a dual-track IPO/trade-sale process.

Anand acts for lenders and borrowers on syndicated, project and Islamic financings. He has documented facilities across power, ports and plantation assets, and advises several development financial institutions on restructurings and recoveries.

Selected experience: Recent work includes acting for a syndicate of five banks on a RM 900 million murabahah term financing for an infrastructure concessionaire, and for a regional bank on the workout of a distressed hotel portfolio.

Farah is a chartered arbitrator and one of a small number of Malaysian practitioners with a doctorate in construction law. She acts in CIPAA adjudications, domestic and AIAC/SIAC arbitrations, and advises employers and contractors on standard-form and bespoke contracts.

Selected experience: Recent work includes defending a main contractor in consolidated CIPAA and arbitration proceedings exceeding RM 240 million on a rail project, and advising a data-centre developer on its EPC suite.

Selected experience: Recent work includes acting for a Penang developer on the sale of 380 units in a seafront project, and for a family office on the RM 75 million acquisition of a heritage commercial block in George Town.

Selected experience: Recent work includes acting for a logistics group in a RM 60 million breach of joint-venture claim, and for judgment creditors enforcing a Singapore judgment against Malaysian assets.
