Islamic Estate Planning — faraid, wasiat, hibah & wakaf
Rashid leads the firm’s Islamic estate-planning practice. He helps Muslim families plan within the framework of faraid — using wasiat (limited to one third), hibah, harta sepencarian and wakaf so that the right people are provided for, and so that a spouse or a child with special needs is not left short by a formula. As a Peguam Syarie he also represents families in the Syariah Court on faraid, hibah and estate matters, and works alongside the civil team where an estate has both Muslim and non-Muslim dimensions.
Rashid joined the firm in 2011; the practice became Cheong & Rashid the same year.
