“Bail is often the whole case for a client and their family. Getting someone home while we fight the charge changes everything.”
About Sophie
Sophie handles domestic-violence and bail work with a steadiness clients rely on at the most stressful moment of a matter. She prepares urgent bail applications at short notice, and understands how a protection-order allegation can ripple through family, employment and reputation.
She acts for respondents to protection-order applications and for people charged with breaches and domestic-violence offences, always with a measured, evidence-based response that protects a client's position without inflaming an already difficult situation.
When someone is in custody, Sophie knows the whole family is holding its breath. Getting a client home on bail — so they can keep working and prepare their defence properly — is some of the most urgent and rewarding work she does.
How Sophie works with clients
- Responds fast and calmly when a matter is at its most volatile.
- Prepares bail applications that address the court's real concerns head-on.
- Negotiates order conditions a client can realistically live with.
