Our Journey
Fifteen years from eleven negotiators above a coffee shop to fourteen branches. The parts that mattered were rarely the parts that made a good photograph.
The short version
We grew when we fixed something, not when we hired.

Eleven negotiators above a coffee shop
Sanjung Properties Sdn Bhd is registered in Cheras with eleven negotiators and one shared printer. The first year closes on 74 transactions, almost all subsale terrace houses in Kuala Lumpur.

The file standard is written
After losing two sales to paperwork, the firm writes the listing-to-handover checklist that every branch still runs: comparables before pricing, photographed inventory at handover, one named owner per file.

Rebrand to Sanjung Realty Group, first branch outside KL
Puchong opens. Vivian Lim Wei Chen joins as Chief Operating Officer and rebuilds loan submission from a shoebox of forms into a tracked process.

The academy starts, because hiring alone was not working
The first foundation programme runs over three days for 42 new negotiators. It becomes compulsory in 2017: nobody holds a file before clearing it.

Past 1,500 negotiators, first project marketing mandate
A Klang Valley developer appoints Sanjung to a 320-unit launch. The launch team model, a trained gallery crew rather than a rotating roster, comes out of that six months.

Everything moves, and the pipeline holds
Movement control closes the galleries. Virtual viewings, e-submission and remote witnessing keep 61 percent of the pipeline alive through the year. Nobody is retrenched.

Past 4,000 negotiators, Penang and Johor open
George Town and Johor Bahru open within four months of each other, and the regional partner structure replaces central control of branches.

East Malaysia, and ISO 9001:2015
Kuching and Kota Kinabalu open. SIRIM QAS International certifies the group quality management system covering listing, transaction and complaint handling.

Fourteen branches, RM5.90 billion transacted
6,480 negotiators close 34,120 transactions for RM5.90 billion in value, across subsale, rental, new launch and commercial.

Seven training hubs, and a foundation with a target
The academy moves into seven dedicated hubs. The Sanjung Foundation commits one percent of group revenue to housing and hardship work, with a target of 100 families rehoused by 2028.
Where that leaves us

Fifteen years in, we are still hiring for the same thing.
People who would rather be trusted than be quick.
