The Keelworth Rhythm
A boat without a keel goes wherever the wind does.
Growth without rhythm does the same. The Keelworth Rhythm is the structure we install in every client business: four phases, four artifacts, one rule — the business must learn to run without its owner at the helm.
Diagnose
We measure how much of the business currently runs through you — and where it is costing you growth.
Every engagement starts with the Owner Dependency Index: a structured audit of delegation, systems, cash visibility, pipeline and leadership rhythm. You see, in numbers, exactly where the business leans on you. Most owners have never seen this laid out. It is uncomfortable, and it is the most useful four weeks of the programme.

Stabilise
We stop the firefighting: one set of priorities, one weekly rhythm, one page of numbers.
Before a business can grow it has to stop wobbling. You choose three priorities for the quarter — no more — and we install the Weekly Helm: a 45-minute meeting with a fixed agenda that surfaces problems while they are still small. Your Growth Ledger reduces the whole business to one page of numbers you actually read.

Systemise
We move what lives in your head into processes your team can run without you.
This is the slow, unglamorous work that changes everything: writing down how the work actually gets done, deciding who owns each number, and handing over decisions with the authority to make them. The test is simple — can you take two weeks off without your phone lighting up? We keep going until the answer is yes.

Scale
With the keel in place, we point the business somewhere worth going.
Now growth decisions stop being gambles. New hires, new premises, new markets, acquisition, exit — each is tested against the numbers in your Ledger and the capacity of your team, not against how tired you are that week. Owners at this stage typically join a Peer Board, because the questions get bigger and lonelier.

Why it works
Four honest reasons this succeeds where willpower fails.
It is a rhythm, not a project. Projects end and the old Tuesday returns. A weekly cadence with a fixed agenda survives busy seasons, because it does not depend on anyone feeling motivated.
It is measured. The Owner Dependency Index is scored at the start and every six months after. You will know if this is working — and so will we, which keeps us honest too.
It narrows before it grows. Three priorities a quarter. Every plateaued business we meet is running twelve. The narrowing is uncomfortable and it is where the growth comes from.
Your coach has done it. Every Keelworth coach has run or directed a real company. When we say “this works on a wet Tuesday in February”, it is because we were there on one.

Delegation
Decisions under an agreed threshold are made without me and I hear about them later, if at all.
Each of my senior people owns an outcome, not just a list of tasks.
When I am away for a week, nothing waits for my return except signatures.
Systems
Our most important processes are written down well enough for a competent new hire to follow.
Quality does not drop when a specific person is on holiday.
We fix recurring problems by changing the process, not by reminding people harder.
Cash & numbers
I see cash, debtors and pipeline on one page at least weekly.
Prices are reviewed against current costs at least twice a year.
VAT, payroll and tax dates are funded in advance, not scrambled for.
Pipeline
New enquiries arrive from channels that work whether or not I personally network.
Someone other than me can quote and close our typical job.
I know our enquiry-to-order conversion rate without looking it up.
Leadership rhythm
My leadership team meets weekly with a fixed agenda that starts and ends on time.
We run the business against no more than three priorities per quarter.
Problems usually reach me through the rhythm, not through my phone.
Your first moves
The index scores how independently the business runs: 0 means it is you; 100 means it runs without you. Nothing is stored or sent — this stays in your browser.
