Choosing treatment

What a smile makeover actually involves

It is not a treatment you buy off a shelf — it is a sequence. Here is how a real makeover is planned, and why the order matters most.

What a smile makeover actually involves

“Smile makeover” is a phrase that gets used to sell a mouthful of veneers. That is not what it means to us. A makeover is not a product — it is a plan that combines several treatments in the right order so the finished smile is designed as one thing, to your face.

It starts as a design, not a drill

Every makeover here begins with photographs, a digital scan and a facial analysis. We design the result on screen — proportion, length, colour — and, for most cases, mock it up directly in your mouth as a trial smile. You approve the look before anything is made permanent. You carry the design; we do not carry the guesswork.

The order is the art

This is the part most people never hear about, and it is the part that matters most:

  • Straighten first. If teeth are crowded or tilted, we move them into place with clear aligners. This alone often means we can add far less afterwards.
  • Whiten next. Whitening lifts your natural colour so that any porcelain or bonding is matched to a brighter base — and so we place less of it.
  • Then, and only then, restore. We add the bonding or veneers the design actually needs, which after aligning and whitening is usually far less than people expect.

Sequenced this way, you keep more of your own tooth and frequently spend less than a full set of veneers would cost.

Who is involved

A real makeover uses the whole studio: a specialist orthodontist for the movement, a hygiene lead for the foundations, a restorative dentist for anything that needs rebuilding, and a smile designer holding the whole thing together. A concierge keeps the sequence joined up so nothing overlaps or waits.

What it costs, honestly

Because it depends entirely on the mix, a makeover is genuinely bespoke — simpler ones start around £6,500; comprehensive porcelain cases run higher. You will always get a full written breakdown before you decide anything. If you would like to see which route fits your smile, our Smile Match tool is a good place to start.
