Devon spent fifteen years as a mechanical engineer - HVAC systems, then medical devices - and was objectively good at it, which is exactly what made leaving so hard. At 38, after two years of Sunday-night dread, he worked through a career change with a coach, retrained, and discovered the work he actually wanted was helping other people navigate the same crossing.
He earned his ICF Associate Certified Coach credential and the Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) certification through the National Career Development Association, and joined Halsted in 2019. He is the studio's specialist in pivots that look impossible on paper: engineers, accountants, attorneys, and clinicians who assume their experience only counts in the field it was earned in.
Clients describe Devon as calm, structural, and impossible to bluff. He is fond of saying that a career change is an engineering problem with feelings, and that both halves deserve respect.
