Program 02
The Career Change Program
A tested new direction and a landing plan - built through real-world experiments, not personality quizzes.
Our flagship. The full Untangle-Explore-Prototype-Land arc across ten sessions: from "not this" to a specific, evidence-backed next field, with the story, materials and search plan to get there.
This is for you if
- You are done with your field, or done with the version of it you are in - and you want the next move to be chosen, not escaped into
- You have responsibilities that make "just quit and figure it out" a fantasy, and you need a change that runs alongside a full-time job
- You suspect your experience could transfer somewhere better but cannot see the bridge
- You have tried tests and quizzes and know a four-letter type is not a plan
It is not, if
- You mainly need clarity about whether to change at all - the Clarity Sprint answers that question for a third of the price
- You are changing companies, not directions - the Job Search Sprint is the right tool
How the 10 sessions run
Sessions 1-3 - Untangle
The Clarity Sprint diagnostic, embedded: honest audit, decision mining, and a first map of directions worth investigating.
Sessions 4-5 - Explore
We turn directions into a shortlist. Transferable-skills inventory, field research method, and the first round of conversations with people doing the work you think you want.
Sessions 6-8 - Prototype
The heart of the program. Two to three cheap real-world experiments per direction: structured conversations, a shadow day, a small freelance or volunteer project. Each experiment has a question it exists to answer. Directions are promoted or cut on evidence.
Sessions 9-10 - Land
The winning direction gets a landing plan: your change story (told forward, not apologized for), a resume rebuilt around transferable evidence with Elena, target list, and the search cadence from the Job Search Sprint. Negotiation prep with Priya when offers appear.
FAQ
Asked about the Career Change Program
How do people fit this around a full-time job?
The program is designed for exactly that: sessions are an hour every two to three weeks, and experiments are sized to evenings and the occasional half-day of PTO. The pace setting is honest: slower than a sabbatical, far faster than another year of wondering.
What does a "prototype" actually look like?
Three real examples: a project manager tested UX research with two structured interviews and a weekend usability study for a friend's nonprofit; an attorney tested compliance work by shadowing a bar-association contact for a day; a teacher tested instructional design by rebuilding one workplace training module on a freelance basis. Cost of all three combined: under $200 and roughly six evenings.
Do career changers really land without starting over on salary?
Sometimes, not always - and we will not pretend otherwise. Adjacent moves (same industry, new function, or same function, new industry) usually hold salary within about 10%. Full reinventions can dip before they recover. Sizing that honestly is part of the Land phase, and Priya's negotiation work exists to protect the floor.
