Braces remain the most reliable way to correct crowding, gaps and bite problems. All orthodontic treatment at Brightside is planned and carried out by Dr. Adrian Lim, our registered specialist orthodontist.
What it costs
Metal braces from RM3,800; ceramic (tooth-coloured) braces from RM5,500. Paid in monthly instalments across treatment.
When to start
We recommend a first orthodontic check by around age seven — not to fit braces, but to spot bite problems early when they are simplest to guide. Most children begin treatment in their early teens once enough adult teeth are through, and adults can straighten at any age.
What treatment involves
After a full assessment (photos, X-rays and a scan) Dr. Lim designs your plan and gives you the total cost up front. Braces are fitted, then adjusted at regular reviews. Most cases run 18–24 months, followed by retainers to hold the result.
Paying monthly
Orthodontic fees are spread across the length of treatment as monthly instalments, so the cost is manageable. Ask about our Family Plan if more than one child is in treatment.
Common questions
Braces or clear aligners?
Both can give excellent results; the right choice depends on the case and the patient. Fixed braces handle the widest range of problems and do not rely on the patient remembering to wear them. Dr. Lim will talk you through both at your consultation. See also our clear aligners page.
