Gum treatment
Treating gum disease early protects the foundation your teeth stand on — the leading cause of adult tooth loss, and largely preventable.

Why gums matter
Gum disease is quiet. It rarely hurts until it is advanced, yet it is the single biggest cause of tooth loss in adults — teeth become loose because the bone supporting them is lost. The good news is that caught early it is very treatable. Our periodontist, Dr. Suresh Kumar, leads this care.
What treatment involves
Early gum disease is treated with thorough professional cleaning below the gumline and coaching on home care. More advanced cases may need deeper cleaning under anaesthetic, and occasionally minor surgery or grafting to repair damage. We stage treatment and review healing at 6–8 weeks.
Cosmetic gum work
Dr. Suresh also reshapes uneven or excessive gum lines — a “gummy smile” — and grafts receded gums, both to protect teeth and to balance a cosmetic result before veneers or crowns.
Common questions
My gums bleed when I brush — is that normal?
No. Bleeding gums are the earliest sign of gum disease and are worth checking. At this stage it is usually easily reversed.
