Why “designed in daylight” is a method, not a slogan

Auvera opened in 2016 when Dr Mara Ellison and Dr Theo Marchetti — a cosmetic dentist and a specialist prosthodontist who kept referring each other the same patients — decided the work would be better under one roof. The roof they chose sits above the fashion houses on High Street, Armadale, with north light through sheer curtains that our patients now know as the site of every shade decision.

Porcelain shade is chosen in natural daylight, never under surgery LEDs that flatter everything. Trial smiles go home with you and face dinner-table light before anything is fired. And the photography that fills our gallery follows a fixed protocol — same lens, same light, same framing, zero retouching — because evidence should not need a filter.

The lab two rooms away

Most cosmetic dentistry in Australia is fitted from ceramics couriered out of high-volume laboratories. Ours is layered by hand on the premises by Sofia Lindqvist — a master ceramist trained in Stockholm and Osaka — who meets every veneer patient in person. That proximity is not romance; it is quality control. Shade corrections happen the same afternoon, single replacement units actually match a decade later, and the ceramist can watch how your smile moves before deciding where translucency belongs.

What we deliberately are not

We are not a whitening bar, a same-day-veneer chain, or a general family practice (we keep a list of nearby practices we trust, and refer happily). Auvera does a narrow set of things — cosmetic and restorative dentistry for adults — at the depth that a narrow focus buys. Registered with the Dental Board of Australia, members of the Australian Dental Association, and licensed under the Radiation Act 2005 (Vic) for on-site imaging.
