Porcelain veneers

Hand-layered porcelain, designed in daylight and fired two rooms from your chair. Our veneers are built to disappear — into your face, your age, your light.

from AU$2,150 per tooth · 3 visits · 5 weeks · trial smile included

What they are

A porcelain veneer is a fine ceramic layer — often no thicker than a contact lens at its edge — bonded to the front surface of a prepared tooth. Done well, it corrects colour, shape, length and minor alignment in one restoration that behaves like enamel: it wears like it, and most importantly it plays with light like it.

Every Auvera veneer is hand-layered by our master ceramist Sofia Lindqvist in the studio’s own laboratory. There is no courier, no model number, no anonymous lab bench. Sofia meets you, photographs your natural teeth against a calibrated shade plate in daylight, and builds each unit to match the way your enamel actually reads — including the faint translucency at the edge that mass-produced units never get right.

How we keep preparation minimal

The question we ask before every case is not “how many veneers?” but “how little tooth can we touch?” Where alignment is the real problem, we will usually recommend Invisalign first — Case No. 063 in our gallery needed two veneers instead of eight because the patient accepted nine months of aligners. Where the enamel is sound, we prepare within it (0.3–0.5 mm), which keeps the bond strong and the tooth alive to sensation.

You preview everything before we prepare anything: a trial smile in temporary resin is sculpted over your natural teeth so you can wear the proposed design home for a weekend, photograph it, and change your mind while changing it is still free.

Honest limits & risks

Veneers are not for everyone. Heavy grinders need a night guard (and sometimes a different plan entirely); gum disease must be resolved first; and a veneer is a restoration, not a tooth — expect 10–15 years of service, then replacement. Preparation, however minimal, is irreversible. Any invasive procedure carries risks including sensitivity, debonding and, rarely, the need for root canal treatment — we will explain all of them, in writing, before you commit to anything.

Fair questions

How long do porcelain veneers last?

Typically 10–15 years, longer with a night guard and sound gum health. When one eventually needs replacing, the in-house lab means we can match a single unit rather than redoing the set.

Do veneers ruin your natural teeth?

Minimal-preparation veneers remove 0.3–0.5 mm of enamel — permanent, but a fraction of what older techniques took. Where we can achieve the result with bonding or alignment instead, we will tell you.

Why do your fees start at $2,150 per tooth?

That figure includes design, the trial smile, hand-layered ceramics from our own lab and the review appointment. Itemised quotes use ADA item numbers, so you can compare us line-for-line with anyone.

Can I see real results first?

Yes — our gallery is entirely genuine Auvera patients, photographed unretouched with written consent, with the recipe and investment band published for every case.
