No. 01 — The house view

Cosmetic dentistry has a lighting problem.

Ring lights flatter. Filters finish the job. And somewhere between the two, an industry taught itself to sell smiles that only exist on camera. Auvera was founded in 2016 on the opposite bet: design the smile in natural daylight, build it by hand two rooms from the chair, and photograph it exactly as it is.

It changes the dentistry more than you’d think. Daylight exposes opaque porcelain, so Sofia layers translucency into every edge. Honest photography forbids the flattering angle, so the design has to survive your real laugh, not a posed one. And publishing the price beside every case keeps our recommendations honest — you will find an $895 whitening case in our gallery beside the $18,000 porcelain one, because roughly a third of veneer consultations here end with no veneers at all.

“If a smile only looks right under a ring light, it isn’t finished. Daylight is the exam.”

What do patients get wrong about veneers?

“That whiter is the goal. The goal is believable — shade, shape and proportion that suit your face at fifty, not just your feed at thirty.”

Why the in-house lab?

“Because the ceramist should meet the person, not a model number. Sofia sees how you laugh before she layers a single porcelain coat.”

What does a prosthodontist add to a cosmetic case?

“Twenty extra years of the result surviving. Aesthetics fail at the bite first, and the bite is my whole job.”

Your rule of thumb?

“If we can keep tooth structure, we keep it. Porcelain is wonderful; enamel is irreplaceable.”

Why you won’t find testimonials here.

Australian law restricts patient testimonials in health advertising — and rather than look for workarounds, we think the rule points at something true: praise is easy to manufacture, photographs taken honestly are not.

Our evidence is the gallery: genuine patients, standardised unretouched photography, and the price published beside every case. Read the photography protocol.

No. 09 — Fair questions

Asked in this room, answered plainly.

All questions
What do veneers actually cost at Auvera?

From $2,150 per tooth — including design, the trial smile, hand-layered in-house ceramics and review. An eight-veneer smile typically lands between $17,000 and $18,500, and every quote is itemised against ADA codes.

Will people be able to tell?

Only if you tell them. Daylight design, edge translucency and the trial-smile veto exist precisely so the answer is no.

I’m nervous — genuinely.

Most people here were. Appointments run deliberately long, you get a stop signal we honour instantly, and the first visit is only a conversation.

Do I need veneers, or something cheaper?

Statistically? Something cheaper. About a third of veneer consultations at Auvera end in whitening, bonding or alignment instead — the gallery prices several of those cases.
