The practice
Founded by someone who was assigned three coaches and could use none of them
Wolcott was founded in 2012 by an operator who had been assigned three coaches in eight years and could not get any of them to follow her actual problem.
Marguerite Okonjo-Fell was an SVP of operations at a Midwest health system: eleven thousand staff, four hospitals, and the kind of week where three of your decisions will be somebody's worst day. Her employer, to its credit, invested in coaching for her. Three times.
All three coaches were credentialled, warm and well-reviewed. None of them had ever carried a P&L, run a function under regulatory scrutiny, or had to hold a line that made them unpopular with people they liked. Two of the three, she says, spent the first month teaching her a model.
Wolcott exists because of that gap. Every coach here held a senior operating seat before they coached anyone — a CFO, a VP of engineering, a general manager, a chief people officer, a country manager, a director of talent. Every coach also holds an ICF credential, because operating experience without coaching discipline produces a mentor with opinions, which is a different and much less useful product.
We have stayed small deliberately. Seven coaches means the founding partner still meets every client organisation, and it means we can turn work down — which we do, roughly one enquiry in five, usually because the thing described is a structural problem wearing a coaching costume.
What we hold ourselves to
Operators first, then coaches
Every coach has held a senior seat with real consequences. It is not a marketing line; it is the hiring bar and it is the reason we are small.
The boundary is not negotiable
What the sponsor sees is written down, stated out loud in front of everyone, and identical for a $40m client and a $4bn one.
Published fees
Every fee is on this site. Nobody in this market does that and we have never regretted it once.
Engagements end
We would rather you come back in two years for the next seat than hold a standing invoice for a relationship that stopped working in month nine.
We turn work down
A performance process wearing a coaching costume, a founder the board has already decided about, a team whose real problem is one member: we say so, and we say it before you have paid us.
Credentials, insurance and ethics
Everything a procurement team is going to ask
Coaching is unregulated in the United States, which means the burden of proof sits with the practice. Here is ours, in the order your legal and vendor teams will want it.
ICF credentials
One MCC, four PCC, two ACC. All seven coaches work to the ICF Code of Ethics, with a published complaints route and escalation to the ICF Ethical Conduct Review process.
Assessment certifications
Hogan (3), Leadership Circle Profile (3), EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360 (2), MBTI Step I and II (1). Every instrument is administered by a certified practitioner with a live debrief.
Team coaching
EMCC International Team Coaching Accreditation at Practitioner level — still uncommon in the US, and the credential that actually matters in team work.
Insurance and contracting
$2,000,000 professional liability, $1,000,000 general liability, certificate available on request. Minnesota LLC, File No. 07214883. W-9 and vendor security questionnaire on file.
Assessment ethics
Psychometrics are used for development only, never for selection, promotion or termination decisions. Results are the property of the individual assessed.
Data handling
Session notes are held in an encrypted US-hosted store, retained for three years and then destroyed. No biometric data is ever collected. Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act and CCPA/CPRA rights honoured; UK/EU GDPR terms available for coachees based abroad.
Where we are
Two rooms in the North Loop and a two-coach satellite in Des Moines. About half our work happens on video, which we would rather say plainly than pretend everyone flies in.

A two-coach satellite serving Iowa, Nebraska and southern Minnesota clients.
Chemistry call
Start with a conversation, not a contract
Thirty minutes with up to three coaches, free, with no sponsor in the room. You choose who you work with — we never assign.
