Martin Ashworth
Chartered quantity surveyor turned construction director. Twenty-six years of pricing jobs, chasing retentions and turning subcontractor chaos into margin.
THE OPERATOR YEARS
Martin trained as a quantity surveyor, chartered with the CIOB, and spent twenty-six years in contracting — the last nine as a director of a £14m regional fit-out firm, where he owned commercial and operations.
He knows the specific maths of the trades: winning work at 4% net and losing it in snagging, the cash gap between valuation and payment, and what a wrong day-rate does across a year of labour.
Martin joined Fellside in 2016. His clients are heating firms, electrical contractors, groundworks and fit-out companies — most of them owners who came off the tools and never got given the second half of the job description.
