This website

We have built this site to be usable with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, and at up to 200% zoom without loss of content. Text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background, headings are properly nested, every image carries alternative text, and every form field has a visible label and an error message that names the problem.

Motion is minimal, and if your device is set to reduce motion, animations are switched off entirely rather than shortened. There is no auto-playing media, no carousel that moves on its own, and no interstitial that traps focus.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Known gaps: some data tables scroll horizontally on very narrow screens, and the availability board is dense on a small phone — both are on our list.

The building

We are honest about this because a page that says "fully accessible" and then has eleven steps helps nobody.

• Step-free access from Ravelston Terrace to the lower ground floor and to consulting room three, via the side entrance.
• Stairs to the first floor, with a handrail on both sides. There is no lift.
• Anything normally done on the first floor — bloods, ECG, dressings, vaccinations — can be brought down to the ground floor. Tell reception when you book; there is no charge and no fuss.
• Accessible WC on the ground floor.
• Hearing loop at reception and in consulting rooms one and two.
• Assistance dogs welcome throughout the building.
• Blue badge holders can be dropped at the side entrance, which is level.
• We can book a longer appointment at the standard price if you need more time, and we can arrange a BSL interpreter with a week's notice.
