Children's health

Appointments for children with a GP who holds the Diploma in Child Health. Under-2s get 45 minutes.

Ground floor · from £145

Dr Hannah Reid holds the Diploma in Child Health and sees most of our under-16s. Every member of staff here who works with children is a member of the PVG scheme.

We book under-2s for forty-five minutes and charge the thirty-minute fee, because a baby appointment that is rushed is a baby appointment that gets repeated on Saturday.

A good proportion of these appointments end with "this is a virus and it will settle" — said properly, with the specific things to watch for written down, which is the part that actually lets a parent sleep.

Children's appointment 30 minutes · £145. Under-2s are booked 45 minutes at the same price.

FAQs

Children's health: common questions

Can you give the routine childhood immunisations?

Yes, including catch-up schedules for children who have fallen behind or moved here from another country. We record them so they can be added to the national record.

My child is very unwell — should I come to you?

If your child is floppy, has a rash that does not fade under a glass, is struggling to breathe, or you are frightened, that is 999 or NHS 24 on 111. Do not wait for an appointment with us.

Do you see teenagers on their own?

Yes, where they are competent to consent, and we explain confidentiality and its limits to them at the start of the appointment.
