Fees and insurance

The whole price list on one page. Nothing is quoted on enquiry.

How paying works

You pay at the end of your appointment by card or bank transfer. If you are claiming on insurance and have a pre-authorisation code, we invoice your insurer and you pay only any excess.

The consultation price covers the consultation. Tests, vaccines and procedures are charged separately and all of them are listed below. We tell you the total before anything is done.

Cancelling. More than 24 hours’ notice costs nothing. Inside 24 hours, or not turning up, is charged at half the appointment fee. We waive it in a genuine emergency.

Insurance

What your policy probably covers

We invoice Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality and WPA, among others. Three things are worth knowing first:

  • Many policies do not cover GP appointments, but do cover the physiotherapy, scans and specialist care that follow one.
  • Almost none cover routine health screening on a well person.
  • You need a pre-authorisation code before your appointment. Without one you pay us and claim it back yourself, and some insurers refuse.

You can self-refer for physiotherapy here, but some insurers still want a GP referral first. Ask them, not us — only they know your policy.

VAT

Medical services provided by registered professionals are exempt from VAT. Work that is not medical in that sense is charged at 20%, and those items are marked above with VAT included.

FAQs

Fees: common questions

Do I pay on the day?

Yes, at the end of the appointment, by card or bank transfer. If you are claiming on insurance and have a pre-authorisation code, we invoice your insurer directly instead and you pay only any excess.

Are your prices inclusive of everything?

The consultation price is the consultation. Tests, vaccines and procedures are charged separately and every one of them is listed on this page. We quote the total before anything is done, and if a plan changes mid-appointment we tell you what that costs before we do it.

Why is VAT charged on some things and not others?

Medical services provided by registered health professionals for the protection, maintenance or restoration of health are exempt from VAT. Work that is not medical in that sense — some medico-legal reports, certain certificates, and purely cosmetic procedures — is standard-rated at 20%. Those items are marked on the price list.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel or move an appointment more than 24 hours ahead and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours, or if you do not attend, we charge 50% of the appointment fee. We waive it in genuine emergencies and we do not argue about it.

Do you offer payment plans?

For health checks and multi-session physiotherapy blocks we can spread the cost over three months at no additional charge. Ask reception when you book.
