The building
Three floors, ten minutes from Haymarket
Ravelston Terrace is a row of stone townhouses on the western edge of the New Town. Number 12 was a family house, then a solicitor’s office, and has been a clinic since 2013.
The ground floor holds reception and three consulting rooms. The first floor holds diagnostics and treatment. The lower ground floor is a physiotherapy gym with its own street-level entrance.
It does not feel like a hospital, which most people prefer. It does have stairs, and we are straight with you about that below.

Three consulting rooms
Each has its own examination couch. Room three is reached from the side entrance without stairs.
Treatment room
Minor surgery, joint injections, dressings and coil fittings. Fitted out in 2019.
Sample bench
Blood samples are spun and packed here, then collected twice a day by an accredited laboratory.
Physiotherapy gym
Fifty-two square metres with two plinths and room to watch somebody run.
Step-free entrance
Level access from the terrace to the lower ground floor and consulting room three.
Getting here and getting in
On foot. Ten minutes from Haymarket station, fifteen from the west end of Princes Street.
By bus. Several services stop on Queensferry Road, two minutes away.
By car. Metered parking on the terrace and nearby streets, usually findable outside 08:30 to 09:30. There is no clinic car park. Blue badge holders can be dropped at the side entrance.
By bike. Two stands at the side entrance, and there is a shower in the gym.
Access, honestly
Step-free access to the lower ground floor and consulting room three, an accessible WC on the ground floor, and a hearing loop at reception. There is no lift to the first floor. Anything normally done upstairs can be brought down — tell reception when you book. Assistance dogs are welcome everywhere.
