Automation Opportunity Finder: Find the Best Tasks to Automate

Seed Light built this free automation opportunity finder around seven questions about how your business runs. Your answers produce a ranked shortlist of repeated processes worth looking into for automation.

Answer seven questions and get a shortlist of repeated jobs worth looking into for automation.

Step 1 of 7

What does your business do?

The method

How the finder builds its suggestions

  1. 01

    You answer seven questions

What the business does, how many of you there are, which jobs eat the time, the tools you already use, how leads reach you, and what happens next. There is one optional box for anything else.

  2. 02

An AI model reviews the answers

Your responses are sent to an AI model to generate and prioritise suggestions. Seed Light does not store them and does not log the content of your responses.

  3. 03

    You get a prioritised shortlist

Each suggestion explains the workflow, why it may help, a rough implementation level and an estimated time-saving range. These are screening estimates, not measured savings.

  4. 04

    A rules-based fallback is available

If the AI service is unavailable, the tool returns a simpler shortlist based on common workflow patterns, labelled so you know which method produced it.

Common questions

Common questions about how the suggestions are generated and how to use them.

Seed Light does not store or log the content of your answers. The answers are sent to an AI provider to generate the suggestions. Avoid entering confidential information because the provider receives the text needed to produce the result.

The suggestions are a first-pass shortlist rather than a complete assessment. Seven answers cannot capture each exception, software limitation, process volume or implementation cost, so review the shortlisted ideas against those details before choosing what to pursue.

Take the top item and build only that one. Pick the version touching the fewest tools, run it on real work, and check whether the saved time matches your estimate.

Automation can reduce the amount of manual work a process needs. The goal for a small business is to free capacity for higher-value work, so the opportunity should be judged by the work it removes from the process.

New software is usually unnecessary. Many useful automations connect tools you already use, such as forms, email, spreadsheets, calendars and accounting software. The finder helps identify where those existing tools can pass information or trigger the next step.
