Where we work

Ipoh, area by area

We work with businesses across Ipoh and the wider Kinta area. Location is used to clarify real service coverage and search intent rather than assuming every business depends on tourism or weekend trade.

We also work with businesses in Menglembu, Simpang Pulai, Chemor, Batu Gajah, Gunung Rapat and Falim.

Old Town, IpohHeritage and cafes
An overview of Ipoh Old Town, heritage shophouse rows below the limestone hills

A business on an old street wants to look like it belongs there and still read on a phone. The logo is drawn to suit its surroundings and checked as a round profile picture at the same time.

Who we typically work with here

  • Cafes
  • Boutique hotels
  • Heritage tours
  • Specialist retail

Common problems

What usually stops a brand being remembered

Five problems we see again and again with business logos. Every one of them is fixed in the files and the guide.

A templated logo shown above the work it represents, ringed in red
Reason 01

The logo looks like a template picked in a hurry.

A website, a document and a profile from one business each using a different look, arrowed in red
Reason 02

The label, the website and the banner disagree on the colour.

Five businesses in one category whose brands look alike, marked in red
Reason 03

Customers cannot tell the business from others in the same trade.

A brand assembled from mismatched pieces added at different times, marked in red
Reason 04

The look built up over the years and was never agreed.

A print job waiting on logo files that do not exist, ringed in red
Reason 05

The original artwork is lost, so every job starts again.

Where we start

Fix the biggest problem first

We prioritise the issues most likely to affect leads, sales or wasted time instead of trying to change everything at once.

What matters

What makes a brand worth remembering

01Image

Look professional at first sight

The look is what a customer meets first, and it settles what they expect. The logo, the colours and the type are drawn together so the expectation matches what the business delivers.

Research before drawing

Customers, rivals and your history.

Judged on everyday items

Seen where customers meet it.

Colour and font chosen

Picked to work with the logo.

Printed documents

Made from the same set.

02Difference

Stand apart from businesses selling what you sell

When every business in a trade uses the same colours, nothing tells a customer which is which. The identity starts from what your market already looks like and moves away from it.

Local market mapped

What the trade already uses.

A colour nobody owns

Chosen against the rest.

Your own way of writing

Words that sound like the business.

Checked from a distance

Tested small and far away.

03Trust

Build trust before the first enquiry

The first enquiry arrives after the trust has been earned, not before it. A considered identity and paperwork that matches each other are what earn it quietly, while nobody appears to be watching.

A logo drawn properly

Original artwork, not a template.

Paperwork that agrees

Every document from the same set.

A photo direction

How your own work should look.

Profiles that line up

The same identity everywhere.

A printed document, a card and a profile page in the same identity
04Recall

Make your brand easy to bring to mind

The real test of a brand is whether someone could describe it to a friend afterwards. We work towards a form simple enough to repeat out loud and a colour that comes to belong to the business.

A shape that sticks

Easy to call to mind later.

One colour, always

Used consistently over time.

An icon version

For small and rough placements.

Written rules

Sizes, spacing and the codes.

Straight answers

Common questions

What owners ask before changing the logo their customers know.

Usually the name stays and the logo is redrawn. A logo that has aged badly is rebuilt in vector with its character kept, given proper colours and fonts, and set in a system with templates. Customers see the business they know, looked after, rather than a stranger.

On the packaging, at arm's length on a shelf beside rivals. The logo is tested at label size, in one colour for a cheap print run, and against the packaging already on that shelf. The website and the social kit follow from the same identity.

Not usually, and the work does not need it. Projects run on scheduled calls and shared files from Penang, with concepts shown on photographs of your own labels, signs and shop fronts. We travel up for a kick-off when a project genuinely warrants it, and say so when it does not.

The logo, the colours, the fonts, the tone of writing and the rules for using them together, applied to where the business meets its customers. For a producer that is the label, the box and the banner. For a cafe or a shop it is the sign, the menu and the profile picture. The applications are agreed on the first call.

The quote depends on whether a known logo is redrawn or a new one designed, how many concepts you want to see, whether an identity system and a written guide are built around it, and how many applications are set up, from a label to a full social kit. Redrawing a sound logo is the smaller job. We scope it on a call and send an itemised quote.

Around four weeks to redraw a logo with its colours and fonts, and six for a full identity with a guide and templates. The first week is research and a written direction, two weeks go on concepts and refinement, and the rest is building files, templates and the guide.

Yes. Labels, boxes, banners, shop signs and name cards are set up from the same identity as print-ready artwork with bleed, dielines and spot colours where the printer needs them. We brief your printer directly when a job calls for it.

Often the right size of job is a refresh: the name and the character of the logo stay, and the files, colours and fonts around it are rebuilt properly. A full rebrand fits when the business itself has changed, with a new product line, a new market or a look that no longer matches what it charges.

Yes, if the character is kept and the change is handled in the open. Every concept is checked at label size, on a sign from across the street and as a profile picture, and the old and new logos run together for a period, so regulars see a business they know with its logo tidied up.

Yes. Once the project is paid, the logo, the artwork and the working files are handed over in full and placed in your own drive. This time the original exists, in a format any printer or designer can open, so the next generation does not start from a photocopy.

No. Seed Light works from one office in Relau, Penang, and Ipoh branding projects run on scheduled calls and shared files, with concepts shown on photographs of your own labels, signs and shop fronts. We travel up when a kick-off or a sign check genuinely warrants it.

Yes. The social kit sets up the profile image, the cover, post templates and story templates in your colours and fonts, sized for each platform. A producer's product posts and a cafe's daily specials both come out looking like the same business.

A call about the business, its history, who buys from you and where the brand appears, from the label to the invoice. Then whatever logo files exist, even a scan of an old label, photos of the signs and packaging as they are today, and a few brands you like and dislike.

Usually more worth it than in KL, not less. Competition is thin, so the same effort moves you further, and the leads are just as real. The ceiling is lower because search volume is smaller, which we will be honest about before you commit.

Then the site should say so and have a page for each place that matters. Taiping, Sitiawan and Teluk Intan searches are separate from Ipoh ones, and a single page mentioning them in a list does not rank for any of them.
