Job description
CRO specialist
- Employment
- Full time or contract
- Location
- Remote, Malaysia
- Experience
- 3 years or more improving live conversion rates
- Hours
- 9am to 5pm Malaysia time
About the role
Traffic is the expensive part and most of it leaves without doing anything. This role works on the surfaces where that happens: the landing page, the form, the basket, the last screen before payment.
The discipline is proving it. Every change is written down with what it was expected to do, and the ones that did nothing are removed rather than quietly kept.
Responsibilities
- Find the drop-off points using analytics and session data rather than opinion
- Rewrite and restructure landing pages, then measure what the change did
- Fix forms and checkout steps, field by field, including the error states
- Run tests where the traffic supports them, and say plainly when it does not
- Keep a written record of every test, including the failures
Requirements
- You have moved a real conversion rate and can show the before and after
- You can write, because most conversion work is words rather than layout
- You understand sample size well enough to not call a winner early
- You can read session recordings without inventing a story from three of them
- You can brief a developer precisely enough to get the change shipped
Useful, not required
- You have worked on checkout as well as lead generation
- You have set up your own tracking rather than briefing it
- You have run a test that disproved something everyone believed
Tools
GA4, Google Tag Manager, Hotjar or Clarity, Figma, WordPress, Spreadsheets. The licences and subscriptions the job needs are paid for, and knowing every one of these already is not expected.
Your first three months
- Month 1. You map where visitors are lost across three client sites and rank the fixes.
- Month 2. The first changes are live, each with a written before and after.
- Month 3. You own the conversion work across the accounts and what gets tested next.
How to apply
Use the form on this page. Attach your CV and list three things you have worked on, with one line each on what you did. Every application is read by a person and gets an answer, usually within two weeks.
