Job description
Email marketing specialist
- Employment
- Full time or contract
- Location
- Remote, Malaysia
- Experience
- 2 years or more running email programmes
- Hours
- 9am to 5pm Malaysia time
About the role
Most of these clients have a list they never use. Somebody enquired, did not buy that week, and never heard from them again. This role is the difference between a list and an asset.
It is writing as much as it is setup: welcome sequences, follow up after a quote, reasons to come back, and the occasional campaign that has to earn its place in a full inbox.
Responsibilities
- Plan the sequences a business needs: welcome, follow up, win back, repeat purchase
- Write the emails, in the client voice, short enough to be read on a phone
- Segment lists so people are sent things that apply to them
- Keep deliverability healthy: authentication, list hygiene, and honest opt outs
- Report on what email produced, in sales and bookings rather than opens
Requirements
- You have run email that produced sales, and can show the sequence
- You write plainly, and you can write a subject line worth opening
- You understand segmentation, and why sending everything to everyone stops working
- You know what breaks deliverability, and how to fix a domain that is being filtered
- You test rather than assume, and you keep the record
Useful, not required
- You have worked with e-commerce flows: basket recovery, post purchase, replenishment
- You have migrated a list between platforms without losing consent records
- You understand PDPA consent well enough to keep a client on the right side of it
Tools
Mailchimp or Klaviyo, GA4, Google Sheets, n8n, WordPress. The licences and subscriptions the job needs are paid for, and knowing every one of these already is not expected.
Your first three months
- Month 1. An audit of what each client is already sending, and the gaps in it.
- Month 2. The core sequences live on two accounts, written and measured.
- Month 3. You own the email programme across the accounts and its reporting.
How to apply
Use the form on this page. Attach your CV and list three things you have worked on, with one line each on what you did. Every application is read by a person and gets an answer, usually within two weeks.
