About the role

A lead arrives and then something has to happen: it lands in the right place, the right person is told, the right sequence starts and the outcome comes back so the ads can be judged honestly. This role builds that.

It is where marketing stops being campaigns and starts being a system. Most of these clients lose leads in the gap between a form and a follow up, and this is the role that closes it.

There is no closing date on this role. Applications are read in the order they come in.

People in this role work on Seed Light's AI & Automation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Build lead capture and routing, from the form to the person who will call
  • Set up and maintain the CRM: fields, stages, and what actually gets used
  • Build the triggers behind sequences, scoring and reminders
  • Push results back to the ad platforms so spend is judged on real outcomes
  • Keep the data clean, deduplicated and consented

Requirements

  • You have built marketing systems that ran unattended for months
  • You know a CRM properly rather than having clicked around one
  • You understand APIs, webhooks and how systems fail quietly
  • You are careful with personal data and consent records
  • You document what you built, because nobody can maintain a black box

Nice to have

  • You have fed offline conversions back into Google or Meta
  • You have migrated a CRM without losing history
  • You have worked with WhatsApp as a real channel rather than an afterthought

Tools

n8n, HubSpot or a similar CRM, Mailchimp or Klaviyo, Google Tag Manager, WhatsApp Business API, Google Sheets. The licences and subscriptions the job needs are paid for, and knowing every one of these already is not expected.

Your first three months

  • Month 1. You map what happens to a lead today on three accounts, and where they are lost.
  • Month 2. Capture, routing and follow up rebuilt on two of them, with the record kept clean.
  • Month 3. You own the marketing systems across the accounts and how results are fed back.

Questions about this role

Questions candidates usually ask before applying. If yours is not here, add it to the message box on the form.

The automation specialist role covers any business process, including quotes, documents and internal handoffs. The marketing automation specialist role stays focused on marketing work.

Whatever the client already has, which is often nothing or a spreadsheet. Part of the job is choosing something they will keep using rather than the most capable option.

The marketing automation role is technical without being an application development job. You will work with APIs, webhooks and data structures on most days, and write a little JavaScript when a workflow step needs it.

The email marketing specialist plans and writes the emails. The marketing automation specialist builds the triggers, segments and data flow that send each message to the right contact, then tests that the rules work as intended.

Client data stays tied to its consent record and approved use. You need to spot when a system cannot show how a contact opted in before that data becomes a liability.

Send one system you built end to end: what triggered it, what it did, and how you knew when it broke. That last part is the one that separates people here.
