Open role
WebsitesAlso advertised as: E-commerce developer, WooCommerce engineer, Online store developer
You build online stores in WooCommerce and fix the steps between the basket and the paid order. The role is remote, worked from anywhere in Malaysia, with the option of time in the Pulau Pinang studio. Apply with the form on this page, and you get an answer either way.
About the role
A store is judged on completed orders, so this role lives at the checkout end: payment methods that work on a Malaysian phone, shipping rules that match how the client really ships, and a basket that does not lose people at the last screen.
You also keep stores running after launch. Stock, tax, plugin conflicts and a payment gateway that changed its API are the ordinary week.
The licences and subscriptions the job needs are paid for. Knowing every one of these already is not expected.
The work
The first three months
Written down so the job is concrete before you apply, and so there is something to measure the first quarter against.
Fixes and small features on live client stores, with a full test order on each.
You build a store from catalogue to checkout and take it live.
You own how stores are built here, and you audit the checkout on every one.
Hiring
Four steps, two weeks end to end, and an answer either way.
Fill in the form with your CV and three things you have worked on, with one line each on what you did.
How you work, what you have shipped, and what you want to be doing next year.
A small real brief, so we both see what working together is like. We pay for it.
Yes or no, with a reason either way.
